About Us
We are a small company of artisans based in the heart of Wales, who strive to be the go-to company for saddlery and leatherwork for the film and TV industry, as well as producers of historic replicas and bespoke saddlery and barding for private clients and museums.
Director
Shelley Musker Turner
After spending time in her teenage years working with horses and camels in Spain and Austria, Shelley returned to the UK to train as a saddle maker, a career she had dreamed of from her early teens.

Whilst gaining her Level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Saddle, Harness and Bridle making in 2014, she started specialising in saddlery and leatherwork for film, a path that she recognised would suit her creative flare.
Having already worked on a large number of feature films, in 2021 Shelley founded Battle Horse Ltd to meet demands for specialist saddlery and leatherwork for the film & TV industry.

In 2023, Shelley lead the industry's first Saddlery Department, on Ridley Scott's Gladiator II, where she recruited and managed a team of 20 saddlers, leatherworkers, drapes and breakdown artists, whilst outsourcing work to a network of creatives and companies across the UK.

Shelley is a qualified saddler and continuously strives to expand her skillset and knowledge as a craftswoman by exploring different historic crafts such as armoury, repoussé and tree-making.
